Who we are

The vision

On My Everyday D.I.Y. we share our d.i.y. projects for just about anything, from building a planter box or desk to brewing your own beer. We will share how to videos on everything from changing your brakes to patching a hole in your wall. I can’t stand to pay somebody to do something that I know I can do myself. We will include plans or sketches of projects where applicable. We will also share links to tools and other items.

Here we enable and encourage each other to take projects into our own hands and have fun doing it!

MEET THE MAN BEHIND MY EVERYDAY DIY

Who I Am

Hey there! My name is Thomas Scribner (aka: Pedro). I was born in San Antonio, Texas in 1965. My passion is building just about anything. I grew up around carpentry work as my dad was a carpenter. My dad works with just about anything from wood to plastic and everything in between. I took building trades in high school, where we built a house from the ground up. My first job right out of high school was with a drywall company. Years ago my friends encouraged me to start my own drywall repair company because they had seen some of my work(that is a story for another time). Many years ago I started a company called Dr. Drywall. I worked with another contractor and did some bathroom remodels for Outback Steak House and we began finishing basements, which quickly became my favorite thing to build. It was fun to take basically a blank slate and create a new living area for the customer. I met my wife Stacey in 2007 (We met on E-Harmony). I gave up the business and went into power linework and have been doing it eversince. I enjoy what I do but my passion is building. My hobbies include: woodworking, computers, photography, gardening, golf, hiking, fishing and cooking. My mom taught me how to cook at a young age. She doesn’t know it but it did inspire me to cook more and try new things. This is why I don’t eat out much when I am away for work. I like to cook my own breakfast and I am not fond of fast food. My wife cooks me meals for the week. They don’t say it but I know that some of them are jealous. I started a YouTube channel with no real direction. Started concentrating on food and drinks. Every now and then I added a “how to” video. It turns out that the “how to” or “diy” videos became very popular. I made a video building a planter box for my oldest grandson and it took off. I was able to monetize my channel basically because of that one video. After this I decided to concentrate on D.I.Y. videos and even changed the name of my channel. It is very difficult to balance a full time job, a YouTube channel, website and maintenance on our home, not to mention everything in between.
